Focus Group Held Under the INTERSMARTS Project Framework at Moldova State University

Chisinau, December 16, 2024 – Moldova State University had the privilege of hosting a Focus Group as part of the project “Interdisciplinary Solutions for Smart and Sustainable Tourism and Services to Support Blue Growth in the Black Sea Basin (INTERSMARTS)”.

Purpose of the Event

The focus group was convened to explore and address challenges and opportunities related to sustainability and blue growth in the Black Sea Basin region.

Overdevelopment and Environmental Impact: Highlighting the pressures of overdevelopment on local ecosystems and strategies for mitigation.

Waste Management and Pollution Control: Exploring effective approaches to reduce pollution and improve waste management practices.

Seasonality in Tourism and Services: Tackling the economic and operational challenges caused by seasonal fluctuations in tourism.

Adoption of Innovative Solutions: Promoting the integration of advanced technologies and practices to drive sustainability and innovation in the sector.

This event brought together a diverse group of experts, researchers, and local stakeholders. Their collaborative discussions provided a rich platform for idea-sharing, aiming to identify actionable solutions to transform regional challenges into opportunities. The ultimate goal is to foster smarter and more sustainable development in the Black Sea Basin.
